Daniella LaRocco
Director of Planning & Economic Development, The Village Alliance (New York, NY)
Daniella LaRocco is the Director of Planning and Economic Development at the Village Alliance in Manhattan and has been working in the Village community for nearly 15 years. One of Daniella’s major projects at the Village Alliance was to upgrade how the organization collects and uses data. She also oversees projects to activate public spaces and increase foot traffic throughout the districts and manages the organization’s landscape program. Prior to the Village Alliance, Daniella worked in the field of economic development and planning in various areas of Manhattan with positions at the Municipal Art Society, Times Square Alliance, Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and New York University. Daniella has a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in History and a Master of City Planning from University of Pennsylvania.
Michael Moore
Vice President of Operations, Stamford Downtown SSD (Stamford, CT)
Mike Moore has served as the Stamford Downtown Special Services District’s (Stamford Downtown) Vice President of Operations for the past three years. Prior to his time with Stamford Downtown, Mike served as the first President/CEO of the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District. Before his time in Bridgeport, Mike held a variety of program and project management responsibilities with the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency and State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development.
Christian Martin
Executive Director, SOMA West CBD (San Francisco, CA)
Christian Martin is the founding Executive Director of the SOMA West CBD, and worked with the board to set up the district’s financial and operational systems before the organization launched services in March of 2020. Mr. Martin has over 9 years of experience in managing improvement districts that serve business communities, residents, and visitors.
Prior to his work in SOMA, he served as founding Executive Director of the Lower Polk and Discover Polk CBDs. His experience also includes three years as the Executive Director of the Trenton Downtown Association (TDA) in Trenton, NJ; under his leadership, the district significantly improved its street ambassador operations with the addition of new equipment, reclaimed public green spaces and launched a green scaping program; reactivated a near-defunct art studio building program; extended the organization’s marketing infrastructure; and grew a number of events and activities that brought traffic and visibility to the District. Mr. Martin holds a B.A. from Princeton University, and is on the executive board of IDA, where he exchanges best practices with industry leaders.
