Kate Borders
Executive Director/President, Downtown Tempe Authority (Tempe, AZ)
Kate assumed the leadership position of the downtown Tempe enhanced services district in 2014. Through collaborations with the downtown merchants, property owners, City leaders and ASU representatives, she is working to stimulate a renewal in the attention to Downtown Tempe. She relocated to Tempe from Fresno, CA where she was the President/CEO for the Downtown Fresno Partnership. Before joining the Downtown Fresno Partnership, Kate spent 7 years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the Executive Director of East Town Association.
Jessica Kliner
Director of Marketing & Communications, Downtown Norfolk Council (Norfolk, VA)
With 20 years of experience in Marketing & Communications, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge regarding all things marketing. She has navigated the vastly changing world of marketing over the past two decades and knows the importance of understanding and embracing trends, and knowing how to speak to your audiences and what they want to hear. She is active in her local chapter of the American Marketing Association and has worked both in for-profit and non-profit settings throughout her career.
David Romako
Founding Partner, Bright Brothers Strategy Group (Phoenix, AZ)
David Romako is a Phoenix-based, buttoned‐up millennial marketing strategist with an ardent passion for building stronger communities. David is the head of marketing faculty at Arizona Nonprofit Academy, has presented at Central Arizona Project Long‐Term Ecological Research symposium, and taught with the Downtown Tempe Authority’s Marketing Symposium. David is frequently found sharing his knowledge at IDA conferences and regional summits.
Josh Yeager
Co-founder, Bright Brothers Strategy Group (Philadelphia, PA)
Josh Yeager is a seasoned strategist with 25 years in marketing, communications and business consulting. Josh organized the Downtown Tempe Authority’s Marketing Symposium, completed seven terms on the Tempe Tourism Office’s Board of Directors, is a current member of NextCity.org, serves on the Design Advocacy Group’s (DAG) Historic Preservation Task Force, is on the IDA Top Issues Council for Place Branding and is a frequent public speaker on marketing, placemaking and place branding.
