2020 Webinar: Place-Based Economics: An IDA Community Discussion

Friday, May 29, 2020 | 11:15am ET (8:15am PT)

IDA community discussion webinars have become a key resource during this unprecedented time, sharing new approaches for place management organizations professionals to navigate challenges specific to the industry.

How place management organizations prioritize services or approach future budgeting will depend, in part, on how the economy responds. While there is no exact economic recovery road map, history, recent trends and current estimations all play a role in shaping forecasts. You are invited to join this web-based open discussion to hear from professional expert panelists with backgrounds in urban economics, research and commercial real estate who will share thoughts on how the pandemic is impacting center cities, downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.

The session will include a moderated Q&A and will be recorded for member and nonmember use in the future.

 Panelists:

  • Joe Cortright Director, City Observatory and Principal, Impresa (Portland, OR)
  • Lauren Gilchrist, Senior Vice President & Senior Director of Research, JLL (Philadelphia, PA)
  • Jared Kadry, Senior Market Analyst, CoStar Group (San Diego, CA)
