2019 Holiday Placemaking Initiative

Downtown Norfolk Council has always promoted Downtown Norfolk as “the” premier holiday destination in the region. During the 2018 holiday season, we saw one of our holiday television spots back to back with a competing town center in our region and the content was distressingly similar – Shopping! Dining! Skating! Santa! We quickly realized we needed to take steps to truly differentiate and improve on our Downtown holiday experience to better deliver on our promise of being the region’s premier holiday destination.
