Rachel Rose Hartman is the founding Executive Director of the DowntownDC Foundation, the DowntownDC Business Improvement District’s (BID) 501c3 organization. The DowntownDC Foundation supports the BID’s philanthropic efforts by enhancing service to the DowntownDC community through homeless services, park revitalization, public art and programming and public space improvements. Rachel joined the BID in Jan. 2014 with 10 years of political journalism experience. She previously held the positions of White House Reporter and Political Reporter for Yahoo News after covering several election cycles as a daily reporter for Congressional Quarterly. Rachel was awarded a 2017 Emerging Leader Fellowship from the International Downtown Association. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the board of directors for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
