This session will explore major trends in economic development and see which approaches local leaders and officials are utilizing in their organizations. Panelists will explore the various stages of the economic development process and explore the myriad of practices associated with successful district economies. Regardless of your experience, walk away with an updated toolbox of financing tools and economic programs to strengthen your district through development agreements, tax credit programs, revolving loan programs and redevelopment initiatives.

Jennifer Lindley
Downtown Development Manager, Town of Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ)
Jennifer Lindley has served in the Town of Queen Creek’s Economic Development Department since 2014 and is the key staff member for all downtown economic development projects. Jennifer has over 17 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and economic development. Before joining the Town of Queen Creek, Jennifer was the Executive Director for the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership and served as the Vice President of the East Valley Partnership. Jennifer is a member of the Board of Directors for the Arizona Association for Economic Development, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Neighbors Who Care and a fellow of the International Downtown Association Emerging Leaders Program.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and has a Master’s in Business Administration from Benedictine University.

Lois C. Yates, CEcD, is a Partner in Global Logistics Development Partners, an investment advisory firm that creates and delivers growth strategies in airports, seaports and emerging and growing logistics hub markets throughout North America and Europe. Lois is a nationally recognized economic development professional with over 30 years’ experience in developing and implementing proactive global business development strategies and in helping logistics asset owners monetize their assets into strong economic enablers for their communities
During her career Ms. Yates had held senior level economic development leadership positions in Florida, Michigan, Maryland, New York and Arizona. During her tenure in these organizations, her work has led to the attraction of more than $20 billion of private capital investment and the creation of more than 100,000 jobs. She has successfully assisted hundreds of companies with both domestic and international projects.
