Overview:As public space becomes increasingly more valuable, the community interest and benefits of parklets have steadily increased throughout 2020. Generally defined as people-friendly spaces which introduce street furnishings (in street) curbside, parklets are providing respite and generating revenues in their communities. Panelists will discuss the process to put together and maintain parklets of all kinds in their district.

Assistant Director, Tulsa Downtown Coordinating Council (Tulsa, OK)
Maggie Hoey is the assistant director of the Tulsa Downtown Coordinating Council. In her role, Maggie crafts organizational communications and outreach, conceptualizes placebranding and place enhancing initiatives and leads an annual programming and activation plan for downtown Tulsa.
Jamie Scott
Director of Planning and Economic Development, Georgetown BID (Washington, DC)
Jamie Scott is Director of Planning and Economic Development at the Georgetown BID. In this role, Jamie oversees the Economic Development, Transportation, and Placemaking programs, ensuring that Georgetown remains a thriving, accessible, and welcoming neighborhood for visitors, employees, and residents. Jamie joined the BID in November 2015. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Director of Community Engagement at Georgetown University.
Sean Warner, AICP
Director of Community Enhancement, Downtown San Diego Partnership (San Diego, CA)
Sean is responsible for overseeing the Downtown San Diego Business Improvement District, Commercial Enhancement Program, and charitable foundations, as well as neighborhood placemaking and activations. Prior to joining the DSDP team, Sean served as Placemaking Manager at the Downtown Long Beach Alliance. In this role, he initiated experiential placemaking and pedestrian enhancement projects, such as crosswalk art, pedestrian wayfinding signage, and a temporary urban park space called The Loop at Pine Ocean. Sean is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he received his degree in City and Regional Planning. He is an active member of the International Downtown Association, where he participated on the inaugural Pedestrian Improvements Council.
