Leona Agouridis
Executive Director, Golden Triangle BID (DC)
Leona Agouridis provides long-term vision and management for creating a unique downtown experience. Her biggest successes include the Connecticut Avenue median enhancement, installation of public art, planning, and implementation of green infrastructure projects including 15 rain gardens on 19th Street, and free summer community events in Farragut Square. Under Leona’s leadership, the Golden Triangle has built an award-winning safety and security program that established the BID as a leader in emergency preparedness. Leona has led the BID through numerous emergencies, disruptive incidents, and National Special Security Events.
Brian Kurtz
Executive Director, Tulsa Downtown Coordinating Council and Special Assistant to Mayor G.T. Bynum
Brian Kurtz oversees the deployment of maintenance, beautification, and livability services, mobility planning and place enhancement projects that result in a thriving and vibrant urban neighborhood. Brian worked for the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership prior to joining the City of Tulsa in 2018. In 2016 he participated in the inaugural cohort of the International Downtown Association’s Emerging Leaders Fellowship. Brian holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo and is active with Urban Land Institute and International Downtown Association.
Rebecca Matheny
Executive Director, Louisville Downtown Partnership
Rebecca Matheny is responsible for all aspects of managing a combined Business Improvement District and Economic Development Corporation focused on Downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Rebecca’s leadership positions have had increasing responsibility, first with the Downtown Development Corporation (DDC) as an independent organization through June 2013, then at the Downtown Partnership as both organizations aligned under single management. Her organizations actively support economic development of Downtown through direct project management, planning efforts, direct technical assistance, marketing, communication and event planning, direct business outreach and policy development and implementation.
