Alex Balloon is the Executive Director of the Tacony Community Development Corporation, located in Philadelphia, where he focuses on commercial corridor development and neighborhood revitalization. Alex has also been a key advocate in Philadelphia initiatives related to commercial corridor and neighborhood revitalization, including a campaign to save and expand the city’s Storefront Improvement Program, modernize the city’s Business Security Grant Program, and other local regulatory reforms. He participated in the Emerging Leader Fellowship program in 2018. Alex earned a master’s degree with a concentration in historic preservation and urban redevelopment from the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster.
