Executive Director, The Loop CID (Columbia, MO)
Carrie Gartner received her B.A. and M.A. in Speech Communication from California State University, Fullerton and her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Utah. Dr. Gartner has over 20 years of experience in urban design, economic development, and marketing. Gartner was formerly the executive director of The District, an urban management organization dedicated to promoting and beautifying a 50-square block area of downtown Columbia. She’s now turned her attention to a neglected commercial corridor in Columbia. The Loop has a 10-year plan to revitalize the corridor and was recently named an Etsy Maker City for their efforts to encourage and attract local, small-scale manufacturers to The Loop.
