It is a brand promise universal to everyone participating in this unique role as a city builder working to bridge the gap between the public and private sector. It is our truth, and that is why we launched the Inspired Leader Award in 2020 to honor professionals both within our organizations and our external civic partner leaders.
Different than the Dan Sweat Lifetime Achievement Award category, the Inspired Leader Award seeks to recognize truly exceptional and demonstrated leadership on a more immediate scale as shown by last year’s recipient Judith Veresuk from Regina Downtown BID in Saskatchewan. Her tireless advocacy supported, educated and fostered an authentic sense of community during the early and most difficult months of the global pandemic. A truly inspired leader among the many in IDA, Judith’s consummate professionalism and love of her community did not manifest during difficult times, but rather elevated to become a lifeline to her businesses, staff, partners and city.
